The Haryana government has suspended Deputy Labour Commissioner, Hisar, Paramjit Singh with immediate effect for alleged negligence in duty.

"Paramjit Singh had remained absent from Building and Construction Workers' Awareness Conference held at Dabwali, Sirsa district last Sunday, and had also disobeyed orders besides being negligent in his duties," Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nayab Singh said.

Singh said the work of the department was related to the workers.

"Therefore, the absence of the officer concerned in an awareness conference organised for them reflected negligence on the part of the officer, especially in view of the Minister being present at that meeting," he said.

During the suspension period, Paramjit Singh's headquarters have been fixed in the office of Labour Commissioner, Chandigarh, the Minister said.

He said instructions have been issued to all officers and other employees to discharge their duties with dedication and honesty.

Strict action as per the rules would be taken against those who are found negligent in their duties, he added.
