Taking a note of a BJP MLA's concern over a newborn's death at a district hospital in Udhampur, Deputy Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today asked the state government to initiate disciplinary action against a medical superintendent.
BJP legislator Dina Nath Bhagat raised the issue in the House, claiming that the medical superintendent of the district hospital failed to provide ambulance to a pregnant woman from Chenani yesterday, leading to the death of her baby.
Bhagat sought action against the medical superintendent for alleged dereliction of duty, following which Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmad Gurezi told the government to initiate disciplinary action against the medical superintendent.
