Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said the government would be using the digital technology in a big way and shun the use of paper.

"We have decided to shun the use of paper files henceforth and only work on e-files. We will make 2015 the year of technology for the state," he said, addressing a meeting to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India project.

The CM said every department will have to henceforth submit proposals for consideration through e-files, which will ensure transparency and a better speed of delivery.

"All the files that have been prepared earlier will be converted into e-files," Fadnavis said.

Decisions related to the revenue department will be provided to the people online as well and the state government will give a boost to the e-tendering system which will ensure accountability and transparency while awarding tenders, Fadnavis added.
