Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling introduction of e-transaction service in the Transport Department and implementation of Short Message Services (SMS) for their reference.
The move would also enhance the efficacy and promptness in delivery system of the department, Minister for Transport Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan said at joint annual review meeting of the department here today.
"Government is mulling introduction of e-transaction service in the transport department and implementation of SMS for their reference for convenience of the general public," he said.

The Minister stressed the need for organising more and more awareness camps and workshops for sensitising the general public about the traffic rules, ill effects of rash and careless driving.
Choudhary said separate facilitation centre would be opened both at Jammu and Srinagar at Regional Transport Offices for the convenience of the people.
He directed officials for constitution of Quick Rescue Teams in accident prone districts with necessary infrastructure at the earliest, adding that Poonch, Rajouri and erstwhile Doda district would be covered in the first phase.
The Minister called for installation of more weigh bridges on Jammu-Kathua, Jammu-Srinagar, Jammu-Poonch national Highway.
