Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah said today that "each election has divided", and not united, the people of the country.

Addressing an event at Amity University here, the Lok Sabha MP and National Conference chief said, "Each election has divided us and not united us...the people asking for votes who feel threatened and tend to divide the people of the nation in the name of religion. I appeal to students to create a nation where every religion is respected, which will lead to peace.

He advised the students to work hard and nurture the feelings of brotherhood and affection within every person to make the country great again.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat advised the students to value the rich culture and history of the country. He shared that the challenges in present times are created by educated people and not by the uneducated and poor ones.

He said that Indian Politics is not in a good condition since it is based on uncertainty of ideas.
