Earphone plugged in, B.Tech student dies

Crossing the railway track with earphones plugged in, a 21-year-old B.Tech student died when he was hit by a train near Avadhpuri crossing in Kalyanpur locality, police said today.

Abhay died while crossing the railway tracks last evening. He was run over by the Kasjang- Farrukhabad passenger train, a police spokesman said.

Abhay could not hear the sound of the approaching train as he had mobile headphones plugged in his ear, locals said.

It was yet to be ascertained whether the youth was listening to music or involved in a telephonic conversation at the time of the accident, police said.
 

The body had been sent for post mortem, police said.
