Earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale jolts eastern Nepal

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale shook eastern hills of Nepal today but there were no reports of any casualty or damage.

The earthquake was recorded in eastern Nepal at 11:57 am today, according to National Seismological Centre of Nepal.

The epicentre of the quake was in Sikkim in India.

Minor tremors were also felt in the Kathmandu Valley this morning, the Centre has confirmed.

However, no damage was so far reported.
