A moderate earthquake has struck off Mexico's southern Pacific coast, but there are no reports of damage or injury.
Mexico's Seismological Service says the magnitude-5.0 quake was centred in the Pacific Ocean, off Pinotepa Nacional, a city in the state of Oaxaca. It was felt as far as Mexico City, where some buildings swayed.
Pinotepa Nacional Police Commander Daniel Mejia says no injuries or damage had been reported. He said yesterday's quake didn't prompt evacuations and not all residents of the fishing town felt it.
The US Geological Survey had not reported the quake on its website.
