Easing demand drag down select commodity prices

Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale pulses market today as select pulses led by urad fell up to Rs 100 per quintal as demand dropped at prevailing levels.

Traders said apart from fall in demand at existing levels, adequate stocks in the market following higher supplies from producing regions mainly led to decline in prices.

In the national capita, Urad and its dal chilka local met with resistance and declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 9,500-10,600 and Rs 10,600-10,800 per quintal respectively.

Urad dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 10,700-11,300 and Rs 11,100-11,400 per quintal respectively.
 

Arhar and its dal dara variety also moved down by Rs 100 each to Rs 10,000-10,200 and Rs 11,600-11,700 per quintal respectively.

Gram, gramdal local and best quality too weakened by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,850-5600, Rs 5,200-5,400 and Rs 5,300-5,600 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 6,300-7,100, bold Rs 6,300-7,100, Dal Masoor local Rs 7,500-7,600, best quality Rs 7,600-7,700, Malka local Rs 8,300-8,650, best Rs 8,400-8,700, Moth Rs 5,600-5,900, Arhar Rs 10,000-10,200, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,600-11,700.

Gram Rs 4,850-5,600, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,200-5,400, best quality Rs 5,300-5,600, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,230, Rajdhani Rs 2,230, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,800-6,200, Kabuli Gram small Rs 5,050-7,450, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,800-2,825 and green Rs 3,000-3,100.
