Chana prices moved down by 1.27 per cent to Rs 6,161 per quintal in futures trading today as participants reduced their exposure amid easing demand in the spot markets against adequate stocks.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September declined by Rs 79, or 1.27 per cent to Rs 6,161 per quintal with an open interest of 30,050 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in October contracts traded lower by Rs 73, or 1.17 per cent to Rs 6,167 per quintal in 30,700 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position, mainly pulled down chana prices at futures trade.
