School teams from Northeastern states of Manipur, Nagaland and Assam registered easy victories over their respective opponents in the junior (Under-17) girls matches of the 56th Subroto Cup football tournament here today.

Chanamban Thambou Higher Secondary School from Manipur thrashed Chandigarh's DAV Senior Secondary School 7-0 while Sports School from Nagaland beat local Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri 4-0.

In the third match of the day, Dakhin Mazbat High School from Assam routed Goa's Our Lady of Rosery High School 7-0.

The Manipur school scored through Kashmina (7th and 47th minute), Asem Raja Devi (23rd, 55th and 56th), Ranjitha (35th, 44th).

The second match between the schools from Manipur and Delhi did not reach the proportions of a major embarrassment to the local team.

After a barren first half, there was a sudden burst of action from the Dimapur school girls in the second with Abeino (34th and 40th) and Neichutu'O (39th and 41st) finding the target.

In the third match, Assam school's Anjali Deka started it all with a goal in the 13th minute and left it to her team mate Macha Sharma to take over in the 22nd and 24th. Dibi Baro slotted in once in the 30th minute before the teams went for the break.

Within two minutes of changing ends, Bhabani Kumar added to the tally and then Macha (44) and Junaki Boro (59) finished it off.

Meanwhile, 13 days into the tournament, the Subroto Cup will witness the season's first final tomorrow between Afghanistan and Mizoram schools.

Delhi Dynamos FC players will be present at the stadium in their team jerseys with the likes of Brazilian Roberto Carlos, the player-manager of the ISL team, along with French Florent Malouda, the former Chelsea left-winger to cheer the boys.
