The Election Commission is looking into complaints of alleged violation of the model code of conduct by Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee and two of her party leaders.

The CPI-M sent a letter to the Election Commission alleging that two Trinamool leaders Abhisekh Banerjee and Abdur Razzak Mollah have broken the code of conduct while the Congress complained against Mamata Banerjee.

"We are looking into the complaints. Officials are examining them," an EC official said.

To monitor pre-poll preparedness in the first phase of polling on April 4 and 11, Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi will hold a video conference meeting with district and other officers.

After withdrawal of candidatures, altogether 163 candidates are contesting in the second part of the first phase.
