Election Commission has ordered repoll in two polling stations in as many Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu on May 8 following malfunction of electronic voting machines (EVMs) during the polling on April 24.
According to state Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar, repoll in a polling station in Salem North Assembly segment in Salem and another booth in Tiruchengodu in Namakkal Lok Sabha constituencies has been necessitated after a 'factory mode' error was detected in the EVMs at the end of poll on April 24.
"For the re-poll, new EVMs would be used in the two polling stations and indelible ink would be applied in the left middle finger of the voters," he said in a statement.
