EC relaxes poll code in Puducherry

CEO T Sreekanth said that 'all normal administrative works and development activities can now be taken up'

Election Commission has partially relaxed its restrictions imposed as part of the model code of conduct ahead of the April 24 Lok Sabha polls in the union territory.

Chief Electoral Officer T Sreekanth said in release here today that "all normal administrative works and development activities can now be taken up".

The Commission, however, stipulated that no officials connected with the conduct of election could be transferred till the entire poll process is completed. No review meetings can also be held by the ministers or any other political functionaries with the election related officials, the release said.
