Election Commission today carried out massive administrative reshuffle by transferring 44 senior officers -- 22 district magistrates, three DIGs and 19 superintendents of police -- in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said the EC posted new officers in these districts replacing the earlier ones.
Those transferred include District Magistrate of Mainpuri from where Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav is seeking re-election.
DMs of Deoria, Maharajganj, Mahoba, Mau, Meerut, Sambhal, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Sonebhadra, Amroha, Bahraich, Banda, Chitrakoot, Etah, Firozabad, Gonda, Jhansi, Kaushambi, Lalitpur, Pratapgarh, Rampur and Shahjanahpur have also been transferred.
