ECL to set up skill training centres near Rajmahal

Eastern Coalfields Limited will set up skill training centres around Rajmahal Project area, a senior official said today.

ECL chairman-cum-managing director R R Mishra said the Rajmahal Project would launch skill development programme, so that youths get employment.

In 2016-17 mining of 17 mt coal had been proposed, while 2017-18 there would be 20 mt coal production, he said.

The Hurasi project would begin in 2018, he said, adding production would also begin at Simlong and Chuparvita mines.

Producing coal was not the only objective but providing health, education and drinking water and other facilities to the people were the priority areas.
