The vigilance wing of East Coast Railway (ECoR), along with Railway Protection Force (RPF), has launched a drive against unauthorised ticket vendors and touts as part of their efforts to make the reservation system more transparent.
An official release issued by the ECoR said the joint team would carry out intensive checks at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur and Visakhapatnam stations to stop illegal ticket sales.
"The aim is to check possible touting activities and other malpractices... It (the drive) covers all important mass contact areas keeping in view passenger convenience and possible loss of railway revenue," it said.
