ECoR to launch 'Shramdaan' on Gandhi Jayanti

In view of the "Swachh Bharat" campaign being organised in the country, East Coast Railway (ECoR) is launching a special drive on October 2 on Gandhi Jayanti in its jurisdiction involving 'Shramdaan' and awareness activities for keeping the sphere of work neat and clean and removing garbage from its premises.

Following the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Campaign is being organised all over the country.

All Railway officials will participate in the 'Shramdaan' (contribution in form of work) for spreading awareness on cleanliness.

A comprehensive Cleanliness Action Plan has been prepared to cover railway stations, trains, tracks, workshops and colonies, with physical involvement of officers and staff at every level in this campaign, an ECoR release said today.
 

Eminent personalities including Union Ministers, public representatives, social workers and all Railway Employees will participate in the massive Cleanliness Campaign- Swachh Bharat at Bhubaneswar Railway Station to spread the awareness on Cleanliness by giving 'Shramdaan'.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, would inaugurate and lead the Campaign at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, it said.

All the Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of East Coast Railway will co-ordinate these activities and campaign within the jurisdiction of their respective Divisions.

Posters, pamphlets, stickers and banners are being used and distributed among the general public for awareness regarding the Special Cleanliness Campaign, it said.

Announcement through Public Address System, display on Electronic Display Boards and other infrastructure will also be used to spread the message through this campaign.

Volunteers of Bharat Scouts and Guides, NCC, NSS and public volunteers can be associated during the awareness campaign.
