ED attaches nephrologist's properties worth Rs 3 cr under PMLA

Enforcement Directorate officials have attached two immovable properties worth of Rs three crore belonging to a nephrologist involved in an alleged kidney transplantation racket.

Sleuths of Enforcement Directorate, investigating the alleged kidney transplantation in Salem, have already nabbed nephrologist, V M Ganesan for his alleged involvement in the illegal kidney transplantation.

"He has derived substantial financial gains in the progress", K S V V Prasad, Joint Director, Directorate of Enforcement, Chennai, said in an official release.

Further investigations lead to the identification of two immovable properties acquired by Ganesan through "camouflaged financial transactions", he said.

"As the said properties are proceeds of crime under the provisions of Prevents of Money Laundering Act, the Enforcement Directorate, Chennai, attached the immovable properties located at Salem for a total value of Rs three crore", he said.
