Singer Ed Sheeran, who had been nominated in a magazine's Sexiest Male Alive poll, is finding it hard to believe at the honour.

People magazine had nominated Sheeran alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake, David Beckham and eventual winner, Adam Levine for the Sexiest Male Alive poll, and the 'Lego House' singer is thankful to the voting committee, reported MTV online.

"One of the reasons I said yes to being in this issue is because it's quite funny. Utterly ridiculous! I don't know who the voting party are for People, but thank you. It's very kind. But I'm sure I'm the only person on this list who has a belly," Sheeran said.

"My usual grooming habits are showering and a shave now and then. Sometimes I put on a suit. Or not! I get voted worst-dressed quite a lot, so I obviously don't put much thought into it," he added.

The 22-year-old singer feels that he should reduce gorging on those high calorie food.

"I should probably cut down on the junk food and beer and try to have a healthier approach to life. But I won't. I say that every year, but I like living. I like enjoying myself," he said.

"I haven't been allowed to tell anyone about being in this issue, but as soon as it's out, I'm going to use it as a chat-up line," he added.
