The Enforcement Directorate today summoned Trinamool Congress MP Arpita Ghosh in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.

An ED official told PTI that Ghosh had been asked to depose before the agency on April 12 to face interrogation.

Theatre personality and Rajya Sabha member Ghosh is alleged to have received Rs 85 lakh from the Saradha Group, the official said.

This is the second time that Ghosh has been summoned in the case by the central probe agency, he said.

She has been associated with the Saradha media arm 'Ekhon Samay' and herself filed a case against the defunct group owned by Sudipta Sen for alleged mismanagement of payment of salaries.

Ghosh is the Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member from West Bengal's Balurghat in South Dinajpur district.

The ED is concurrently probing the Saradha chit fund scam along with CBI and had attached properties worth several crores owned by the group.
