"The Middle" spin-off focusing on Eden Sher's Sue Heck has received a pilot production commitment at ABC network.
According to Variety, the show will be a single-camera comedy project, which would follow the adventures of eternal optimist Sue (Sher) as she navigates from the small town of Orson to the big city of Chicago.
"The Middle" creators Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline are attached as writers and executive producers.
Heisler and Heline's Blackie and Blondie Productions will produce in association with Warner Bros Television.
News of the series' development first officially broke in May, shortly after the series finale of "The Middle".

Sher confirmed shooting the pilot of the new show last month.
The original sitcom, which ran from 2009-2018, ended with Sue still in college, though in the flash-forward it was revealed that she eventually married her longtime friend Sean.
"The Middle" also starred Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott and Atticus Shaffer.
