Edible and non-edible oils drop on subdued demand

Groundnut oil prices dropped further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockists and retailers amidst ample supplies from producing regions.

Refined palmolein also declined due to absence of retail demand.

In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial fell further on lower demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.

Linseed oil maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

In the edible section, groundnut oil declined by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 940 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 950 and refined palmolein moved down by Rs 4 per 10 kg to Rs 504 as against Rs 508 previously.
 

Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold slumped by Rs 100 per 100 kg to Rs 3,675 from Rs 3,775 and castor oil commercial went down by Rs 20 per 10 kg to Rs 765 as compared to Rs 785 last weekend.

Linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 775 per 10 kg.
