Edible, non-edible oils decline on listless trade

Refined palmolein also slid further in the absence of retail buying support amidst bearish Malaysian cues.

In non-edible, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial slipped owing to lack of demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures, both June and September contract remained weak on speculative selling on the back of lower export orders.

In the edible-segment, groundnutoil moved down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,170 per 10 kg from Friday's closing level of Rs 1,175 and refined palmolein fell by Rs 7 per 10 kg to Rs 625 from Rs 632.

Turning to non-edible, castorseed bold went down by Rs 15 per 100 kg to Rs 3,150 from overnight closing level of Rs 3,165 and castoroil commercial edged down by Rs 3 to Rs 660 from Rs 663. Linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 710 per 10 kg.

 

Moving to futures, castorseed for the June contract resumed steady at Rs 3,030, later drifted to Rs 2,991 before ending at Rs 3,025 against Rs 3,030 previously, showing a marginal loss of Rs 5 per tonne.

The September contract also opened lower at Rs 3,210, later eased further to Rs 3,180 before settling at Rs 3,206 from Rs 3,275 yesterday, disclosing a fall of Rs 69 per tonne.
