Edible, non-edible oils drop on sluggish demand

Groundnut oil prices dropped further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid fresh arrivals from producing belts.

Refined palmolein continued downtrend for the fifth straight session due to subdued retail buying support.

Castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial declined following lower offtake from shippers and soap industries.

Linseed oil maintained a stable trend in the absence of any major buying from paint and allied industries.

In the edible section, groundnut oil dipped by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 970 from Friday's closing level of Rs 980 and refined palmolein eased by Rs 4 per 10kg to Rs 558 as against Rs 562 yesterday.
 

Moving non-edible segment, castorseeds bold slipped by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 4,825 from overnight level of Rs 4,850 and castor oil commercial moved down by Rs 5 per 10kg to Rs 995 compared to Rs 1,000 previously.

Linseed oil closed unchanged at 780 per 10 kg.
