Edible, non-edibles decline in sluggish trade

Groundnut oil prices dropped in an otherwise sluggish Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market due to subdued demand from stockist and retailers.

Refined palmolein also softened on lower retail offtake from retailers.

In non-edible segment, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial moved down further owing to poor demand from shippers and soap manufacturing units.

The castorseeds futures rates for today were unavailable.

In the edible segment, groundnut oil fell by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 780 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 790 and refined palmolein edged down by a Re to Rs 568 per 10 kg.

Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold eased by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 4,025 from overnight close of Rs 4,050 and castoroil commercial went down by a Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 835 as against 840 previously. Linseed oil remained unaltered at Rs 840 per 10 kg.
