Edible oil declines on lower demand, good arrivals

Groundnut oil prices declined at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here on lower demand from stockists and retailers on the back of good arrivals from producing regions.

Refined palmolein also eased further on subdued offtake from retailers.

Meanwhile, linseeds oil ruled stable following lack of largescale buying activity.

In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial recovered on renewed demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.

In the edible section, groundnut oil slipped by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 960 from Thursday's close of Rs 965 and refined palmolein eased by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 520 from Rs 522.
 

Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold regained by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 4,325 from Rs 4,300 and castor oil commercial moved up by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 895 as against Rs 890 yesterday. Linseeds closed unchanged at Rs 760 per 10 kg.
