Groundnut oil prices moved down further in an otherwise lacklustre oils and oilseeds at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers following better arrivals from producing regions.

Refined palmolein recovered on renewed retail demand amidst bullish Malaysian cues.

Meanwhile, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil all held steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

In the futures market, castorseeds declined on heavy speculative selling on the back of reduced export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnutoil fell by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,110 from Tueday's closing level of Rs 1,115. However, refined palmolein climbed by Rs 2 per 10kg to Rs 505 as against Rs 503 yesterday.

Moving to futures, Castorseed for June contract resumed higher at Rs 3,470 but later drifted to Rs 3,433 before ending at Rs 3,438 from Rs 3,460 previously, showing a net loss of Rs 22 per tonne.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and Linseedoil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,490 per 100kg, Rs 728 per 10kg and Rs 750 per 10kg respectively.
