Edible oil firms up on buying by vanaspati millers

Edible oil prices firmed up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on increased buying by vanpaspati millers and retailers to meet the festive season demand.

In the non-edible section, castor and linseed oils also moved up on increased demand from consuming industries.

Traders said increased buying by vanaspati millers and retailers to meet the festive season demand mainly led to the rise in edible oil prices.

In the national capital, mustard expeller oil (Dadri) rose by Rs 50 to Rs 7,150 per quintal.

Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,900 and Rs 6,600, while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 5,250 per quintal, respectively.
 

Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,300 and Rs 6,100 per quintal, respectively.

In the non-edible section, linseed and castor oils went up by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,850 and Rs 9,700-9,800 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,140-1,250.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,750, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,300-1,375, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,150, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,225-1,275, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,275-1,375, sesame mill delivery 8,700, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,900, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,600, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,350, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,300, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,100 and Coconut (per tin) 2,650-2,700.

Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,850, Castor 9,700-9,800, Neem 5,350-5,450.
