Edible oil prices rose by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today following increased buying by vanaspati millers and retailers coupled with restricted supplies from producing belts.
Linseed oil, in the non-edible segment, also moved up on increased demand from paint industries.
Traders said increased buying by vanaspati millers and retailers against tight supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in edible oil prices.
