Edible oils slides on subdued demand

Refined palmolein also eased due to subdued retail demand.

In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold and castoroil commercial continued its downtrend owing to selling pressure in the absence of demand shippers and soap manufacturers.

In futures trade, castorseeds recovered modestly on on fresh export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnutoil dipped by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,210 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,220, and refined palmolein softened by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 655.

Turning to the non-edible section, castorseeds bold moved down by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,200 from yesterday's0 close of Rs 3,225 and castorseed commercial eased by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 670 from Rs 675. Linseedoil closed steady at Rs 770 per 10 kg.

 

Moving to futures, castorseed for June contract resumed lower at Rs 3,255, but later surged to close at Rs 3,293 over its previous close of Rs 3,279, showing a gain of Rs 14 per tonne.
