Edible oils surge on sustained demand

Groundnut oil prices surged further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market on sustained demand from stockists and retailers amid restricted arrivals from producing region.

Refined palmolein also rose owing to good retail offtake.

Linseed oil advanced due to rising demand from paint and allied industries.

However, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial slipped following lower demand from shippers and soap industries.

In the edible segment, groundnut oil climbed by Rs 30 per 10 kg to Rs 1,200 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,170 and refined palmolein moved up by Rs 8 to Rs 590 per 10 kg as against Rs 582.
 

In non-edible section, castorseed bold declined by Rs 10 per 100 kg from yesterday's close of Rs 3,335 and castoroil commercial edged down by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 695 as compared to Rs 697 previously.

Linseed oil gained by Rs 20 per 10 kg to Rs 1,030 as against Rs 1,010 yesterday.
