EDMC remove 17 truckloads of garbage near Dilshad Colony

In a major relief to the residents of Dilshad Colony, over 17 truckloads of garbage and junk heaped for a long time by scrap dealers on an encroached land was today removed by East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).

The anti-encroachment drive at the land behind Suraksha nursing home was led by Seemapuri Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) this morning, said a senior corporation official.

The garbage and junk was ferried to Ghazipur landfill site in 17 trucks and 13 auto-tippers deployed to clear the land.

The drive by general branch of Shahdara north zone of EDMC was done in presence of Delhi police personnel, the official added.
