Education fair for slum children in South West Delhi

Several slum children and youths today participated in an education fair organised at Nangal Raya in South West Delhi.

In the 'Shiksha Mela', organised under the joint project of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and NGO DISHA, the children took part in painting and quiz competition, educational games and presented cultural programmes.

During the function, R Krishnan, HR Director, BHEL, distributed skill training certificates to 30 youths.

BHEL, a public sector unit, is supporting DISHA under its corporate social responsibility initiatives to educate 1,200 underprivileged children and provide skill training to 240 youth for two years from March 2013 to February 2015 in 10 slum clusters of West and Central Delhi.
 

The Public sector Unit has committed to spent Rs 26.76 lakhs towards "DISHA- BHEL" CSR project.

Under trhe project, the children are being trained in skills of computer, beauty culture, photography and tailoring.
