Egypt today expressed deep condolences over the death of 39 Indian citizens who were abducted and killed by the ISIS in Iraq.

"Egypt strongly denounced such heinous crime against Indian nationals and stressed its support to the Indian government and people in this crisis," Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry also expressed deep and sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

The Indian government said on Tuesday that the 39 Indians abducted in 2014 by the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists in Mosul city were dead and their bodies had been recovered.

The statement also said that such hateful crime is added to the criminal record of the terrorist group against unarmed civilians over the past years.

It also confirms the credibility of Egypt's vision of the importance of exerting international efforts to dry up the sources of funding of this terrorist group and denying them any safe haven.

Egypt has witnessed a number of terror attacks, claimed by the ISIS, leading to death of many people, including security personnel.
