Eid-ul-Zuha celebrated with prayers and feasts

Faithfuls today celebrated Eid-ul-Zuha with prayers and feasts.

Eid-ul-Zuha, also known as Eid-ul-Azha and Bakri Eid, is celebrated to honour and commemorate the willingness of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his son Ismail on God's command.

Muslims celebrated the day, which marks the end of the Haj pilgrimage, by feasting on meat and dressing up in traditional attire.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also wished people on the occasion celebrated with traditional fervour.

Elaborate security arrangements were made today by officials of the Kolkata Police.
