City police arrested eight people, including six juveniles, on charges of molesting a pregnant woman near Musi river and attacking her husband, when he intervened.
Accused Akash Singh, a student and B Balakrishna, a labourer (both 18 years), along with six juveniles, misbehaved with a pregnant woman and outraged her modesty on the night of March 16, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) V Satyanarayana told reporters today.
The woman and her husband who had come to the city from Mahabubnagar district for medical reasons had gone near the river to relieve themselves at night.

When her husband tried to rescue her, the accused attacked him with a sharp weapon resulting in bleeding injuries, after which he was admitted to a hospital here, the he said.
On a complaint by the woman, the Shahinayathgunj police booked a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
