Eight inmates escape from juvenile home

Eight inmates of a juvenile home here removed an exhaust fan and used bedsheets to escape from the facility, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday at the juvenile home located on Mohaan Road in Para area of state capital.

"The incident took place yesterday at around 7.30 pm. Police was informed at around 8.00 pm. Those who escaped were staying in barrack number one. They removed the exhaust fan and used bedsheets as ropes to come out through the exhaust fan vent.

"We have alerted the police of the neighbouring districts, and investigations in this regard are going on," Additional Superintendent of Police, Lucknow (East) Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said.
 

Of the eight juveniles who escaped from the juvenile home, three are from Lucknow, one is from Kanpur Dehat, while two each are from Rae Bareli and Unnao.
