Eight killed, seven injured in clash over land dispute

Eight persons, including a woman, were today killed and seven others injured in a clash between two groups of the same community over land dispute in Pakur district, the police said here.

Superintendent of Police Ajay Linda said the clash broke out among the same Santhal community groups over a land dispute at Hathigarh village under Littipara police station of the district.

The sub-divisional police officer, Kishore Kaushal, said all bodies were recovered and sent for post mortem.

The condition of two of the injured was stated to be critical, he said and added the police were camping at the village.
