Eight miners kidnapped in Pakistan

The miners were working in a coal mine in Marwar area when they were taken by the unidentified armed men to an unknown location, an official of the Levies militia told the media.

The kidnapped men belong to Swat in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa province. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.

Law enforcement agencies launched a search operation to trace the kidnappers.

Baloch nationalist groups have been accused of killing and kidnapping non-Baloch settlers in the resource-rich province.
