Eight peacocks were found dead this morning near Nathadi village under Nainwa forest range here and officials suspected that they were poisoned.

Eight peacocks, seven female and a male, were found dead under Phuletha forest checkpost, Forest Ranger Sanjeev Gautam said.

Peacocks were possibly poisoned as wheat and other edibles were found scattered around their carcasses but the actual reason of death would be ascertained only after the postmortem and viscera reports are received, Gautam added.
