Eight suspected Naxals were today nabbed from a village of Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Sukma district, police said.
"The cadres were nabbed from their native Tokanpalli village under Chintagufa police station limits," Sukma Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh told PTI.
A joint squad of Central Reserve Police Force's 150th battalion, CoBRA's (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) 206thbattalion- CRPF's elite wing - District Reserve Group (DRG), and district force was carrying out a search operation in the interiors of Chintagufa, located around 500 km from here, when the ultras were held, the ASP said.
While cordoning off Tokanpalli village, they rounded up eight "suspects" who admitted to their involvement in the Naxal movement, he said.
Of the eight, Madvi Sitaram (24), Madkam Bheema (25) Muchaki Kosa (33), Sodhi Dewa (30) and Madvi Nanda (32), were allegedly involved in triggering an Improvised Explosive Device blast in August 2014 near Gadgadmeta village in Chintagufa region in which a jawan was injured, Singh said.
Besides, three others - Muchaki Masa (30), Muchaki Joga (22) and Muchaki Hidma (28) - were allegedly involved in some local incidents of violence, the ASP added.
Seven "suspected" Naxals were arrested from Tokanpalli village last week.
