EIH Q1 net profit dips 39 pc at Rs 6.41 cr

Hospitality major EIH Ltd, which runs hotels and resorts under Oberoi and Trident brands, today reported a 39.24 per cent dip in its standalone net profit to Rs 6.41 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014.

The company had registered a net profit of Rs 10.55 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, EIH said in a statement.

Standalone total income from operations of the company stood at Rs 284.12 crore for the quarter under consideration as against 271.16 Rs crore for the same period a year ago.

The results for the first quarter are not indicative of a full years working due to seasonal nature of the Indian hotel industry, EIH said.
 

Founded in 1934, Oberoi Group operates 30 hotels, a Nile Cruiser and a Motor Vessel in the backwaters of Kerala. The Group has presence in six countries under the luxury 'Oberoi' and five-star 'Trident' brand.

The Group is also engaged in flight catering, airport restaurants, travel and tour services, car rentals, project management and corporate air charters.

Shares of the EIH Ltd today closed at Rs 100.20 per scrip on BSE, up 0.20 per cent from their previous close.
