Elaborate security arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of polling in the fifth and final phase of elections in Jammu division tomorrow.

"In view of the recent developments on the other side of border, we have to remain vigilant as the subversive elements could try to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state," said K Rajendra Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP).

He chaired a high-level security meeting of police, para-military and intelligence agencies held at Police Control Room (PCR) here.

"Elaborate security arrangements have been made around polling booths for smooth and peaceful conduct of polling," a police spokesman said quoting the DGP.

During the meeting, the DGP sought detailed reports from the police officers and other security agencies about security and deployment of personnel in their respective jurisdictions.

He asked the officers to ensure high alertness, especially in the border areas to check infiltration bid.
