Elderly couple drugged, robbed by help on Diwali eve

An elderly couple was drugged and their house was robbed allegedly by their servant in Greater Kailash area of south-Delhi a night before Diwali, police today said.

According to police said, the absconding help, who was employed just three days ago, has been identified as Surendra Singh but nothing concrete has been achieved so far, except for his photograph.

The matter came to light on Diwali morning when a daughter of the couple, ML Chhabra and Raj Madan, called them up from Gurgaon but they did not respond, they said.

The victims has reportedly told the police that the accused was hired as domestic help after advertising in a newspaper and they had decided to go for his verification after Diwali, said police.
 

Police said that the medical examination of the victims revealed that they were given a high dose of sedatives.
