An elderly couple was found murdered at their house in Warangal city and over 30 grams of gold ornaments stolen, the police said today.
The deceased have been identified as G Damodar (62) and his wife G Padma.
They were killed late last night, police said.
Some neighbours alerted police when the couple did not open the door of their house today morning, they said.
Police found household articles scattered everywhere and Damodars body lying on the bed.
His wifes body was found in the bathroom.

"It is a murder for gain case..we are verifying CCTV footage," Warangal Police Commissioner V Ravinder said, adding, six teams have been formed to trace the culprits.
An investigating official told PTI that Damodar's head was found smashed and his wife's throat slit.
"The accused fled with over 30 grams of gold ornaments from the house," he said.
The couple were running a grocery store, the officials said, adding, their children stay in Hyderabad and abroad.
