An elderly couple was brutally killed by unidentified miscreants in Bihar's Araria district, police said.
The police recovered the bodies of the elderly couple from forest area in Rahikpur ward no 2 of the district after getting information from the villagers, Superintendent of police (SP) Araria, Sudhir Kumar Korika said.
It appears that while the killers beheaded the woman, her husband's throat was slit, the SP said.
The couple were murdered somewhere else and their bodies thrown in the forest area, he added.
The deceased woman was aged around 55 years while the man is of about 60, Korika said.
The bodies have been sent to Araria Sadar Hospital for postmortem and police investigation is on, the SP added.
