In a case of property dispute turning ugly, an elderly couple was murdered allegedly by their son, daughter-in-law and grandsons in Sikar district of Rajasthan, police said today.

Primary investigation reveals that there was a land dispute in the family of Chotiram (60) in Jhilmil village under Nechwa police station, they said.

"Chotiram's elder son Bhanwar Lal (45) had a fight with him last night and he (Bhanwar Lal) along with his wife Gogi Devi and sons Suresh and Tara hit Chotiram with sharp-edged weapons in a fit of rage," police said today.

Suresh and Tara are aged around 20.

"When Chotiram's wife Laxmi (58) and wife of younger son Tina (21) came to his rescue, they were also attacked by the accused.

"All the three were rushed to a hospital, where Chotiram and Laxmi were declared 'dead on arrival'," police said.

Tina is undergoing treatment but her condition is stated to be critical," they added.
