An elderly couple based in Jalore district of Rajasthan were allegedly held hostage in the middle of the night by three masked men, who decamped with gold jewellery from their house, police said today.
The incident happened last night when the three robbers barged in the residence where Shyam Lal Agrawal (65) and his wife were sleeping, Additional SP of Jalore, Pahar Singh said.
They held them hostage on knife point and robbed gold jewellery from the house before fleeing the spot, Singh said, adding that the couple, however, were not injured.
A case has been registered, Singh said, adding, "We have some clues about the culprits and are hopeful of catching them soon.
