Elderly man hacked to death

A 60-year-old man was hacked to death allegedly by his neighbor over a year-old dispute at Kuwali in East Singhbhum district, police said.

Police recovered the body of the victim, Rajkishore Sardar, Officer-in-charge of the police station, Satnarayan Sharma said.

Rajkishore was hacked to death by a sharp weapon before he was crushed with stone in the remote area on Sunday last, he said.

The villagers told police that the victim had a dispute over a petty issue about a year back, Sharma said when asked about the reason behind the killing.

The body has been sent for post-mortem to M G M Hospital here, he said.
 

A named FIR has been registered against the neighbor Shivsaran Sardar, who was reportedly absconding.
